Join us in the Burtonsville office for a support group for children (ages 7 to 9) in transracial families. The group will provide a space to build community, gain support, and receive age-appropriate learning and resources. This support group is designed as a consistent six-month experience. Families are asked to commit to regular biweekly attendance so the group can build trust, continuity, and meaningful support. 

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:

Kylie Golden, LCPC, serves clients throughout the state of Maryland. She holds a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and Bachelor Degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Lewis University (IL). Kylie has provided individual, family, and group therapy to a variety of populations, including children and families involved with the foster care system, adult men charged with intimate partner violence, and survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Kylie’s clinical specialties include the impact of complex trauma on child development, adoption, grief and loss, parent/child relationship dynamics and attachment, children’s coping strategies, and resiliency. Her treatment model includes a combination of empirically based modalities that incorporate the mind/body connection and brain based interventions, and expressive, client centered, and play therapy techniques that include cultural, developmental, and strength focused considerations.
 
Mikela Moore, LGPC (she/her) is passionate about supporting clients with neurodiverse identities to explore and affirm their experiences while promoting self-care and social-emotional skills. Her professional background includes over 6 years working in classroom settings, specializing in children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.
 
As a certified trauma-sensitive yoga instructor and professional massage therapist, Mikela loves introducing her clients to different tools for emotional relief including embodied movement, meditation, and mindfulness techniques. As a lifelong arts-and-crafter, she also enjoys bringing elements of creativity into therapy space. Mikela’s goal is to support her clients’ whole authentic self - body, mind, and spirit - on their journey towards healing and growth.
 
Mikela earned a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Pacific Lutheran University in 2013 and a Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in 2025. She is under the clinical supervision of Michelle Collins, LCMFT.
