About the Faculty:
Dr. Anne Brodzinsky, a psychologist for 32 years, has always specialized in the multifaceted arena of adoption. Three specific areas in adoption have interested her particularly; the importance of cognitive development on children’s understanding of their adoption story, parenting adopted children, and the first/birth-mother experience. In the latter area she has participated in research, trained professionals in the U. S., Italy, and Britain, and has written chapters, journal articles and children’s books in the field. Her work illuminating the historical and present experiences of pregnant women exploring adoption continues to be of great importance to her. In pursuit of that goal, she works with first/birthmothers in her clinical practice, and has ongoing professional work as a writer focused on the first/birthmother experience.
